“Sona Manovikas Kendra” for a mentally disabled children is run by “Sona Viklang Punervas Avom Sodh Sansthan , Bhilwara” institute since in 1996 in Bhilwara. It is only one school in Bhilwara District to empower its special duties. Previously it was known as ‘Sona Mandbuddhi Vishesh Vidyalaya” But this name is irrespective for the mentally disabled children. So with the opinion of all members of Institute, the previous name is being changed to “SONA MANOVIKAS KENDRA” .Presently there are 65 students get free education,training,physiotherapy,speech therapy which is provided by school .Every year more than 50 non-admitted children are benefited by providing special “Home-Based” program.

Mental Disability is not a type of disease or illness but it is only a symptom or effect of under developed mind. About 3% of the world's population is affected by mental disability. A lump sum of 4%of the mentality disabled are struck by multiple retardation. Only a few percent of the above statistics are getting proper training in special schools. Educating the mentally disabled children is process which needs immense patience and well equipped tools cum machines along with new teaching technology for a vibrant development. Early identification of mental retardation and proper management can lead to a better growth in the mental health of the children.
